History
It all began with that smash and grab run you were supposed to do in the barrens. A simple setup with a quick-in/quick-out plan. Just put down the guards and grab the stash. Until your team came busting through the doors, guns ready, to find that the guards were really a bunch of metahuman refugees: elves, orks, and dwarves. Come to find out that you'd been setup by a Hand of Five cell, and they were hot on your tail. The whole front of the building was boobytrapped with white phosphorous. Half your team went down in the first three seconds of the gun battle. From there, it was a retreat under fire. You got just about everybody out, with your Roadmaster crammed full of refugees, screaming children, and wounded teammates. You ran, but you didn't make it far.
Seemed like all of the policlubs turned out for a pogrom, and it became just a running gun battle through the barrens. Finally, you made it to a safehouse where you could hunker down and treat the wounded. It was three days, though, before the heat died down enough so that you could get everyone out. Counting the cost at the end of the day you came out with three of seven dead, two wounded to the point of retirement, and two relatively unscathed. With remorse, your team dissolved, going its separate ways. Lacking anything better to do, you headed down to the local pub to grab a beer and think things over. Halfway through your drink, an attractive redhead sat down next to you.
"Torsion?"
You blinked, and glanced around. How did she know your name?
"Who's asking?"
"My name's Fury, and I have a job you might be interested in."
