Designated the MSG90A2, the rifle includes several refinements suggested by the major consumers of the weapon, namely police and corporate security forces worldwide. The original Quick Detach sight mount has been updated to accept the new Leupold 6x42 multispectrum sight as well as all generations of ultrasound detectors. Carried over into the new design are all the ergonomics which made the orginal MSG90 such a popular rifle: ambidextrous and extended saftey lever, universal magazine release, two stage match trigger, and buttstock with adjustable plate and cheek piece. Each MSG90A2 comes standard with iron sights adjustable for windage and elevation out to 1200 meters, a threaded muzzle for flash suppressor or silencer, bipod, and a brass deflector just to the rear of the ejection port. Additionally, by exclusive contract with Quick Trigger Systems, all new MSG90A2s come equipped with their latest Centurion smartgun links. Also available to supplement the standard five round box magazine are twenty round box magazines as well as a fifty round drum.

Taking the hard lessons of the Five Years war to heart, Israel's armed forces requested an updated rifle from the Galil Armament Company. The weapon that was finally accepted was the revamped Galil Sniper V. Based on the widely successful Sniper II, Galil updated the chassis with new, foamed aluminum receiver reinforced with steel inserts, a polymer stock with adjustable buttplate and cheek piece, integral bipod mounted just forward of the magazine well, and machined aluminum sight rails bolted directly the the lower receiver. The stock folds just behind the pistol grip for easy stowage and transport. The trigger, already a standard two-stage military type with pull-off adjustment, has been enhanced with the Gideon series of smartlinks. Now, in association with Ares Arms International, Galil is proud to announce the release of the Sniper V to the general public. The two versions available, one with faux dark elm finish and the other in brushed tactical black, will be identical to the standard Israeli Defense Force issue except the export versions will not be fitted with the combination muzzle brake/flash suppressor. Taking a long hard look at the future of precision weapons, Knight Armament Company has developed what they believe will become the premier police and security rifle of the coming decades. Christened the Stoner-Ares SR35, the rifle is based along the lines of the ruggedly successful Ares Alpha bullpup chassis. Instead of the cold-forged combat barrel, though, Knight uses the latest CALM process to produce a heavy match grade barrel able to hold its accuracy under the worst weather and usage conditions. Additionally, the polymer bullpup stock is reinforced with machined aircraft aluminum inserts, providing strength at only a fraction of the weight of standard steel reinforcing. Anticipating the growing use of cybernetics in the security and military fields, the SR35 comes without a standard mechanical trigger. Instead, Knight has installed what it terms its Weapon Interface Reflex System, or WIRES.
