Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation is proud to announce the debut of the RAH-66 Comanche flight B upgrades. Having served on the battlefield for fifteen years, in every theater from hot war to humanitarian relief, the Comanche has proved itself an invaluable resource and the perfect complement to the Apache gunship. The Flight B upgrade ensures that it will continue to provide unparalleled close air support and battlefield surveillance throughout the remainder of its service life.
Avionics upgrades include new flat panel LCD displays for both pilot and weapons system operator, as well as improved pulse-doppler multi-mode radar, enhanced ESM suite, and a new fourth generation FLIR. Systems upgrades to the Comanche are numerous, the most important of which are the new GE TF800-J303 Turboshaft engines equipped with COLR active thermal suppression modules. Sikorsky also made improvements to the Comanche's fly by wire system as well as its fire detection and onboard fire suppression system. Over three hundred changes and upgrades were made as part of the Flight B program, and Sikorsky is confidant that current Comanche users will be impressed by the increased capabilities of the airframe.
The Comanche comes with two internal rocket mounts with 9 CF and 1100 kg of dedicated storage, a chin mounted mini-turret with 2 CF and 100 kg dedicated ammunition storage and six gunnery recoil adjusters. The standard armament is a pair of Vogeljager MRAAM, four Outlaw AGMs, and a Vindicator minigun in the turret.
